There are many beneficiation processes for gold mines, common ones include CIL, CIP, flotation, etc. No matter which method is used to extract gold, the raw gold ore needs to be ground to a certain particle size in order to separate the gold from other gangue minerals, and ultimately extraction of gold concentrate. This is inseparable from the gold mine ball mill. Depending on the processing capacity, there are about 20 types of gold mine ball mills from small to large. Here we will introduce to you how to select a gold mine ball mill with an output of 15 tons per hour.

1. Determine gold ball mill type

There are two main types of ball mills: grid type and overflow type. If you want to select a gold ball mill with a production capacity of 15 tons per hour, the first step is to determine which ball mill you want.
If it is a one-stage grinding, a grid-type ball mill should be selected. Under normal circumstances, when the required particle size is greater than 0.2-0.015mm (-200 mesh accounts for 60%-70%), a one-stage grinding process should generally be used. In small-scale mineral processing plants, in order to simplify the grinding process and equipment configuration, a one-stage grinding process is also used.

If it is a two-stage grinding, or if the grinding fineness is high, then an overflow ball mill is selected. The overflow ball mill can grind gold ore to about 325 mesh (0.074mm). In gold ore dressing plants, overflow ball mills are mostly used in the second-stage grinding or intermediate product regrinding operations (often forming a closed circuit with the cyclone).

After determining the type of ball mill, you can further determine the gold ball mill model.

2. Determine the gold mine ball mill model

In the production of the mineral processing plant, the processing capacity will change according to the changes in the properties of the ore. Therefore, it is recommended that the ball mill processing capacity should fully meet the requirement of 15tph. According to the characteristics of the South Africa customer’s gold ore and process requirements, we recommend clients ball mill model Ф2100×3000

3. Features of the gold ore ball mill 2100x3000

(1). The transmission of the gold mine ball mill adopts large double-row spherical roller bearings instead of sliding bearings, which greatly reduces friction and facilitates starting.
(2). The corrugated bushing is used in the ball mill chamber to increase the contact area of the ball ore and enhance the grinding effect.
(3). The energy-saving ore dressing ball mill has a larger discharge port, which greatly improves the production capacity.
(4). The lubrication system adopts oil mist lubrication device to ensure reliable lubrication of gears and gears.
(5). In order to prevent the slurry from leaking out, there are rubber rings and metal washers under the nut. The non-smooth liner can lift the grinding medium to a higher height and then descend to strengthen the impact of the steel ball on the ore.

People Also Frequently Asked For-FAQ

1.What is the critical speed of the ball mill?

The critical speed of the ball mill is approximately 31.94 revolutions per minute. This means that if the mill operates at this rotational speed, the grinding balls will start to centrifuge and the mill will no longer effectively grind the material.

2.How much volume should be filled in the ball mill?

Generally, filling the mill by balls must not exceed 30%–35% of its volume. The productivity of ball mills depends on the drum diameter and the relation of ∫ drum diameter and length.

3.What size balls to use in a ball mill?

To allow a stable cascade, ball diameter should not be much larger than 20% of the jar diameter. Smaller balls have more surface area and will have more strikes per revolution allowing for faster milling, but each strike has less energy, reducing effectiveness against harder materials.
